Writers: hold on to your release date

I’m sure by now you may already know that all book fairs and other book events for the remainder of the year have been cancelled due to Covid-19. If you had a release date between now and then, you might want to reconsider. Speak to your publisher. In this era of confinement, people read—more than ever before. But in the absence of standing on the grand stage behind the mike before an audience of well-wishers and crazed fans, the impact might be shallow–at best. So, wait for the right moment.
