Writers: Keep on writing. At the beginning of every year, we’re fired up, ready to overcome all obstacles. Lofty goals are set, and if you’re a writer, you must know that meeting your writing goal is key to literary success. Have you set yours? Don’t tell me you haven’t, for since the start of the pandemic, the book industry has been having a windfall. The reason? Working from home. I was in a Zoom conference last week with some colleagues, and we were discussing the strange effect the pandemic has had on the world of book publishing. There are two areas in particular that have been in high demand over the past 11 months: historical fiction and romance fiction. I know there are plenty of novelists within our ranks. So, I’m urging you to stay focused. Reading and writing are the key components in the struggle to win over the loathed days that lie ahead. The world needs you more than ever.
